Boss Suggestion Regarding Short Column & Concrete Strength

Where designing a RCC Base Column the minimum size is 16”X16”
In practical while using stone chips the f’c is found 3500 psi (1:1.5:3)
While using Brick chips the f’c is found 3000 psi (1:1.5:3)

While using Brick chips the f’c is found 2500 psi (1:2:4)

Boss Suggestion Regarding Connection Plate Bolt Spacing

In a connection plate minimum bolt-bolt distance is 2.5d to 3d. And edge distance is 1.5d

Boss Suggestion Regarding Shop Drawing 1

1. In rafter, generally connection plates are provided after 8m distance for transportation easiness.


2. Purlin-purlin distance should be maximum 1300 mm or 4 ft.

Boss Suggestion Regarding Column To Building Out

In drawing my suggestion bay spacing @ 7600 mm and steel column center to outer of building will be 350 mm (150+200) considering 150 brick wall. If bypass type then center to outer of building will be 425 mm (150+25+250) considering 250 brick wall. 

Skylight/Transparent Sheet Instructions

Skylight should be 840X3048 in mm
Where effective is 820X2850 in mm

The code says it should be 2.5-3% of total Area (SFT).

Load Calculation For Simple Pre-fabricated Steel Structure


Load Calculation:

Purlin (200 C 20) = 5.5 Kg/m = 5.5*9.81/(1.2*1000)=0.045 KN/m²; [In general spacing between Purlin is
kept 1200 mm]

Roof Sheet (0.47)=0.47*7850/(1000*.82)=4.5 kg/m² ;
[In a 1m coil 820mm sheet will be found after profile has been made]
=(4.5*9.81)/1000=0.044 KN/m²
= 0.089 KN/m²

Total Load of Purlin & Roof Sheet= (0.045+0.044) KN/m²

Dead Load=0.089*6.1=0.54 KN/m
Live Load=0.57*6.1=3.48 KN/m
L/B=30/30.5=0.98
h/B=6/30.5=0.2
h/L=6/30=0.2
